What’s at stake: After defeating a strong Manchester City side Sunday in dramatic fashion, Arsenal (3rd, 61 points) must take care of business at last-place Wolverhampton (20th, 22 points). As a club which appears destined not to return to England’s top division next season, the Wanderers present Arsenal with a golden opportunity to either consolidate or extend its lead over challengers Chelsea (6th, 57 points), Newcastle (5th, 59 points), and Tottenham (4th, 59 points). Though the points disparity between the two teams would indicate a comfortable win for the visitors, Arsenal would be foolish to assume an easy result — of the 4 games in the past 12 in which the Gunners have failed to earn a full 3 points, 3 of these games have come against bottom-half opposition (Swansea, Bolton, and Q.P.R.).
