It’s (nearly) official: BBC Sport, among other sources, is reporting that striker Lukas Podolski will be heading to Arsenal this summer in a £10.9 million deal. Podolski will reportedly be signing a 4-year deal at around £100,000 per week, which lends credibility to rumors that Arsenal has decided to relax its strict wage structure in attempts to attract star talent. Gunners fans can also give Per Mertesacker a big round of applause for helping to recruit his fellow German international to the Emirates.
Though I am not Podolski’s biggest fan, I am personally quite happy with a deal for this player at this price. Podolski may turn out to be a very good player for the club, and is certainly a nice secondary option to Robin van Persie. I would also prefer one decent striker over two below-average ones (Marouane Chamakh and Chu-Young Park) — and it remains to be seen what this deal means for the future of those underperforming players.

Podolski is good with RVP wonders wil happen. But i would also be happy to seal the striking force with the Zambian striker Emmanuel Mayuka. The boy is good all legs are powerful & he can dribble he is wonderful.

I believe Arsenal will sell Bendtner, Vela, Park and Chamakh. Podolski would be one to replace them, maybe another striker not costing much like Suarez or a complete unknown, and promote Afobe from the reserves. Thats done with the offense.
